Hi {{ first name | Raleigh Lover}}!

I wanted the last week of my 40s to be stellar — and Raleigh delivered.

From dancing to new discoveries at the Raleigh Wide Open Festival, to catching up with friends old and new, this city gave me everything I needed to celebrate life in full color. I soaked up the energy at Falling for Local at Dix Park, explored stunning designs at the Triangle Parade of Homes, judged the Iron Chef Challenge (and savored some of the best fall dishes in the city), and enjoyed one of the most authentic Japanese dining experiences at Waraji — I swear I was transported straight to Japan. Now a favorite Raleigh restaurant for sure!

The week continued with book club (Circe is a great read if you’re looking for one!) and the perfect birthday celebration: coffee and cake from Fount Coffee, a beautiful lunch at the new Good Graces in North Hills, FaceTime calls with family and best friends back in Australia, and having Kalyra home from college for fall break. My heart couldn’t be fuller.

And the celebrations aren’t over yet — we’re wrapping it all up this weekend with a house party with our friends. 🥳

The sweetest surprise of all came when a follower stopped by our table at Good Graces to wish me a happy birthday. She left me with the most divine message: “Synergy at 50.” She told me that her best years — in life and career — began at 50.

I’m ready to embrace that, with a full heart and an open soul. Because life is too short and goes too fast not to. Here’s to the magic still to come — and to the city that keeps giving us so many ways to celebrate it. 💫

💖 FAVORITE FINDS

  • Good Graces: We enjoyed our chicken salad sandwich on sourdough, blackberry salad with chicken, cappuccinos, espresso martini, and Mezcal cocktail.

  • Judging the Iron Chef Challenge at the Midtown Farmers Market was fun, although a difficult job. Congratulations to the winning team, Tamasha for their original dish highlighting sweet potato and andouille sausage.

  • Cafecito is a new coffee cart we discovered at the Midtown Farmers Market. (It’s a small but mighty market btw)

  • The spicy mocha paired with gluten free pumpkin bread at Idle Hour is full of Fall flavor!

  • Loved Mason Via’s National Park Song (see it while you can) at Raleigh Wide Open. He got a standing ovation for it! Our reel here.

  • Since I’m newly ear’s pierced, Craig bought me some gorgeous pearl earrings for my birthday, from local, Bailey’s Fine Jewlery! He said the attendant was very helpful in recommending something that would suit my face and coloring!
