Weekly Wrap: Salmon ceviche, Caniacs, NC State Fair, famous people in Raleigh

Hi !
There’s no doubt Fall has arrived. Hoodies are out of a morning, and sleeveless dresses of an evening! Enjoy it while it lasts as usually it’s not too long!
It seems the transition to our new email has gone smoothly! It’s just taking me some time to create the new design for this email, hence why it’s so late today. It should be easier from here on out. Feel free to share your feedback!
Putting this all together has reminded me again of the power of starting before you're ready. I had a long list of things I wanted in place before making this transition, but I think I managed to check off only two of them! I’m working on the fly now, and honestly, if I had waited to check off everything, I’d still be waiting months from now.
This isn’t the first time I’ve leapt without a safety net. I’ve landed in foreign countries with nothing but a backpack and a fierce will, and I’ve knocked on doors until I found work to get by. Each time, I felt that same rush of uncertainty mixed with determination. But one thing I’ve learned is that you grow your wings on the way down. You prove to yourself just how strong, capable, and resilient you are.
When you take that leap, things have a way of working out. If you wait until you feel “ready,” chances are you’ll never start, and you’ll miss out on the growth waiting for you. Life has taught me that the magic is in the doing, not the waiting. When you step forward, even when you’re not fully prepared, you open yourself up to new opportunities, lessons, and experiences that you’d otherwise miss. So if you’re feeling the pull, don’t wait for perfection—just start. You’ll find your way as you go, and you might just discover how far you can truly fly.
I’ll be still growing those wings for the next few weeks as I get that list checked off! I have several other projects I’m doing at the same time int eh same way! My life is always an adventure!

P.S. Someone replied to my email yesterday and said I was a phony because I was so positive and joyful.🤣 Nope. Truly the way I am. It helps me get through the challenges and love even more the good times! I’m definitely not the right fit for everyone! 💓💓
💓 FAVORITE FINDS
The salmon ceviche at Good Day and Goodnight Restaurant in the Casso Hotel (everything here was outstanding)
The Casso Hotel in Downtown Raleigh. I’m very impressed with this Marriott Tribute property, which is their more boutique brand. It’s representative of local culture and history and a fantastic place for visitors to stay. Let’s just say Harry Styles thought so! (more to come)
Birria tacos at Lobera on Hillsborough St (new restaurant)
This stunning home we discovered on Triangle Parade of Homes
Sweet Potato flat white from Iris Coffee.
