Weekly Wrap: From Prom Dresses to Ringing Bells
Chicken bacon nachos and "you're not from round here" signs

Hi Raleigh Lover!
What a whirlwind week it’s been in the Makepeace household!
Our eldest daughter, Kalyra, hit two huge milestones, and our hearts are full. First up — Prom! She looked absolutely stunning (yes, this is the proud mom moment) and joined what felt like the entire city of Raleigh at the WRAL Azalea Gardens for photos. If you were there, you know — it was a sea of gowns, tuxes, and joyful teens soaking up the moment. That garden really is magic in full bloom.
Then this week… the big one. National College Decision Day. And just like that, Kalyra rang the bell and made it official: she’s heading to UNC Wilmington! 🌊
We couldn’t be more thrilled — what a beautiful place to live, learn, and grow. Honestly, something about this decision just feels right. I’ve always felt pulled toward Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach (even since the Dawson’s Creek days!), and now my soul is thinking it was for greater purpose - Kalyra’s destiny. Maybe that’s the magic of life — how it subtly leads you exactly where you’re meant to be. It’s like her path was quietly unfolding all along.
So yes… expect even more beach trips in our future. And if you know of a cute little beach cottage for sale — let a dreamer know 😉
Here’s to big moments, beautiful destinations, and the joy of watching our kids step into who they’re meant to be. 💙
Cheers,
Caroline
P.S. This is a PLEASE SAVE ME plea. Any tech geniuses that can help. I updated my Android phone today and it has forced my phone into dark mode. The setting to switch it into light mode cannot be accessed. I’ve tried to put the phone into developer mode but it stays greyed out. Dark mode brings me panic attacks and this could be a deal breaker that pushes me over to iphone. PLEASE HELP ME!! (cue dramatic scene of me arms outstretched sinking into a black hole)
