Hi Raleigh Lover!
Sometimes the greatest joys in life come from the connections you make with people you’ve only just met. Last weekend, we had the pleasure of attending the preview event at State of Beer with Susan from Experience Raleigh. We spent the evening getting to know her husband (a proud Scotsman!) and their friends, and what a delight it was!
As the conversations flowed, we uncovered so many shared experiences: living in London, traveling across the U.S., rugby tours in Australia, a mutual love of Guinness, and even reminiscing about great Australian TV shows. Each shared story sparked joyful memories—not just for me, but for everyone in the conversation. It’s a reminder of what makes life so rich: the experiences we have and the people we meet along the way.
It’s moments like these that fuel my love for exploring—not just far-flung places, but right here in Raleigh, too. Adventure doesn’t always mean boarding a plane or crossing a border; sometimes it’s in a local pub, a new event, or a conversation with someone new.
This is the magic I hope to share with you—those sparks of connection and the joy of discovering something new. My wish is that through This is Raleigh, you feel inspired to embrace the adventure in your own backyard and maybe even ignite a few sparks of your own.
Here’s to a weekend full of connection, joy, and new discoveries,
Caroline
