Weekly Wrap 10/25/24: Happy Halloween, fall colors & treats, WNC travel openings and more

🎃 Happy Almost Halloween, Raleigh! 🎃
It’s that time of year when everything feels a little spookier, and we’re in full pumpkin-spice-and-ghost-mode over here! With Halloween weekend upon us, we’re ready to embrace all things eerie, creepy, and, let’s be honest—corny. (Yep, we’ll take all the candy corn, please.)
But before we suit up in our best costumes (we’ll be the ones dressed as enthusiastic bloggers roaming Raleigh!), we wanted to bring you a rundown of all the thrilling things happening in town. Think haunted houses, outdoor movie nights, costume parades, and even some low-key spots to escape the mayhem if you’re more “snuggle with a scary movie at home” this weekend.
Our youngest is doing that tonight with friends for a “scream-a-thon” with my favorite, and possibly the only horrors I watch - you guessed it - Scream. Our eldest is elevating the scream-a-thon to real life terror at Panic Point with her friends. If you haven’t been to that haunted house before, it’s a good one. And of course, Raleigh’s best Halloween House is in Historic Oakwood - cannot wait to see this year’s theme (go on a weekday if you can or early morn!)
So grab your ghost-hunting gear and your favorite candy stash—it’s time to dive into Raleigh’s Halloween happenings! Whether you’re out there trick-or-treating, party-hopping, or just doing it for the candy (no judgment), we’ve got you covered on the best ways to make this weekend a scream. We have a list of Halloween happenings for you to choose from!
There is no need for you to be bored this weekend, there is so much happening!
👻 Now, on to the ghoulishly good stuff...
💖FAVORITE FINDS
Pumpkin spice latte & chocolate pecan tart (gf) from Assali Desserts & Cafe in Cary. They have the BEST Fall treats, and plenty of gluten free options. Their coffee is good too!
Fall Colors!! Raleigh is popping. Here are places in Raleigh to see the Fall colors. I’m loving the leaves around Bond Lake, trees in the neighborhood, and an IG follower shared photos of Durant Park - Wow some vibrant reds happening there!
The pineapple habanero ginger beer from Glass Jug Beer Lab in Durham/ We helped friends celebrate their combined 40th on the weekend and loved this drink and brewery vibes!
Saffron vanilla latte from Iris Coffee Lab is a warming seasonal drink for Fall. I do like their sweet potato flat white just a tad more.

⭐DID YOU HEAR?
It’s the last weekend of the NC State Fair! Apparently, traffic was horrendous last weekend with the Sabrina Carpenter concert also on, which our daughter went to. Her video clips looked great! It took her about an hour to get there though with the traffic! No clashing concerts this week, so all might be better.
DC's chain Sweetgreen will open its first Raleigh location this week in North Hills. I have it on good authority from a DC native that it will be some salads to fall in love with.
Love Chicago style pizza? Then head to Rosati’s Authentic Chicago Pizza is now open on Falls of Nuese Road in the Falls Village shopping center.
The Concert for Carolina is on Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium with a huge line up of artists. All proceeds will support Hurricane Helene efforts in WNC. While tickets are sold out, they will be live streaming the event!
The Biltmore Estate will open Nov 2 in time for their Holiday celebrations (it’s beautiful at Christmas!)
Travel & Leisure ranked Raleigh as the best quality of life on the East Coast. You can see what some of our followers had to say about that!
