Hi {{ first name }}

This weekend reminded me how joy sometimes sneaks up on you.

A few months ago, Savannah and I pressed play on a random TV series about a group of friends chasing their dream of becoming a rock band. It was set in Wilmington, which immediately had our North Carolina-loving hearts. Within minutes, we were hooked.

Then we discovered something unexpected — the band from the show had become real.

And this weekend, we found ourselves at The Ritz in Raleigh, dancing and singing along to The Runarounds like we’d known them for years.

There’s something powerful about following the little sparks of curiosity. A simple “press play” turned into a night of live music, connection, and one of those core memory moments with my daughter. After the show, Savannah said, “I’m so happy I have a concert mum. Live music is just the best.”

I’ll be holding onto that one for a while.

A reminder as we head into a new week: say yes to the small things that light you up. You never know where they might lead.

P.S. They also took care of my Australian heart, playing a cover of Aussie band Jet’s “Are you going to be my girl?” and they nailed it. Speaking of two homes of the heart, tomorrow I officially become a US Citizen. I’m blessed as I get to be a dual citizen - the truth of who my soul wants to be: Australian American. More on that on Friday.
