As you can imagine our hearts are heavy given the recent mass shooting on Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach, a place I have been to many times - I even learned to surf here. Many people around the world will be feeling it as they too would have experienced Bondi as a welcoming place of joy and togetherness.
My prayers continue to be for peace and unity. It is our only solution. My thoughts are also with Jewish communities as they celebrate Hannukah this week. It’s a burden to carry during what’s meant to be a joyous week. May we all remember to be the light in times of darkness. Our thoughts are also with those affected by the tragedy at Brown University.
This week will be a little quieter in Raleigh as locals tend to their holiday shopping lists and preparing their homes for unity and peace. However, we still have a lot of ideas for you!
Craig’s parents fly back home this morning, and then this afternoon, our home welcomes in more Australians!! A good friend of ours is visiting. She is not new to Raleigh - we first met her in 2004. She was on the same cultural teaching exchange program as us.
