There are a few fun events happening around Raleigh this week, including the Downtown Raleigh Home Show (the Convention Center’s first event since the fires), a Plantmania Expo, Astronomy Days, and the Chinese New Year Festival welcoming the Year of the Horse.
Tomorrow, I head to NYC for three days. It’s an annual trip that Craig or I make for an important travel industry event. While it’s mostly focused on our travel blog, Raleigh always comes along with us. We’ll be catching up with delegates from Visit Raleigh and Visit North Carolina, along with smaller NC tourism boards representing our great state. It’s a full-on day of speed meetings and networking—busy, but genuinely fun. I’m especially excited to sneak in visits to a few Aussie-style cafés for excellent coffee and lamingtons. ☕️
I’ll share a few stories here and there on our Raleigh channels, but most updates will be over on our travel Instagram, @ytravelblog. And if anyone asks where my outfits are from, I’m proud to be representing our very own local favorite, Rose & Lee Boutique. Many people don’t realize this, but our support of Raleigh and its local businesses truly extends internationally. It’s a joy—and a privilege—to share that far and wide.

If you’ve followed This Is Raleigh for a while, you know how much I care about building a life rooted in freedom, connection, and community.
Behind the scenes, the entrepreneurial journey that’s supported our travel dreams for over 15 years — and more recently this Raleigh community — has also led me into deeper inner work, especially around my relationship with money.
It’s work I don’t often share here, but it’s shaped how I build, contribute, and create with more ease.
On February 1, I’m guiding a group of women through a 30-Day Abundance Reset — a grounded, practical experience focused on money, mindset, and the principles of co-creation (how we create and draw in what we desire in any area of life).
