Hi {{first_name}}

Well, the pollen seasoning doesn’t seem to be slowing Raleigh down… patios all over the city are packed with people soaking up this warm spring weather. We were out and about yesterday, popping into a few spots, and everywhere felt full, happy, and buzzing with that “we made it through winter” energy.

Speaking of spring—many of you might be heading off for Spring Break this week. Our girls are on a short break too, and we’re off to Charleston for a family getaway… our first without Kalyra, who’s staying at UNCW (still getting used to that!).

We haven’t been to Charleston in about 20 years—wild to even say that. It was one of the first places we visited after moving to the U.S. in 2004, and it played a big role in me falling in love with the East Coast. I’m so excited to wander those historic streets again, see what’s changed, and discover a few new hidden gems.

And yes… a carriage ride will absolutely be happening. We’ve done it a few times over the years with visiting family from Australia, but this will be Savannah’s first—so it feels special all over again.

If you have any Charleston favorites—especially great coffee or tucked-away spots—send them our way! We’ll be sharing what we find when we get back.

Closer to home, I’m heading to a CreativeMornings event today to hear Carly Mask speak about the power of building local community. Feels like perfect timing—I’m always looking for ways to grow and create more meaningful connection here with all of you.

Because really… that’s what this season is about. Growth. Expansion. Trying new things. As the saying goes: if you’re green, you’re growing… if you’re ripe, you’re rotten. So, here’s to staying green.

What’s something new you’re leaning into this season? A hobby, a class, a small step outside your comfort zone?

Warmly,

Caroline

Local Spotlight: Cozy Panda

If you’re looking for something a little different (and a lot of fun), Cozy Panda brings a creative experience right to you.

They offer mobile pottery painting for private parties and community events—handling everything so you can simply relax, get creative, and enjoy the moment. There’s a playful, whimsical touch woven into every experience (yes, expect a little panda magic 🐼), making it feel easy, lighthearted, and memorable.

It’s the kind of gathering where conversations flow, creativity sparks, and everyone leaves with something they’ve made—and love.

If I Were Planning My Weekend I’d …

  • Head to Logan’s Garden Shop at the Farmers Market for some spring festival (Fri & Sat) fun - live music, specials, food trucks, free plants. Then grab some fresh seasonal produce from the market and pop over to Trophy Brewing for an afternoon bevvy in the sun.

  • Watch the Courage take on Bay FC at WakeMed Soccer Park and help celebrate the women and girls who shape you at their special Women’s History Month event. Discounted tickets for you here!

  • Enjoy various Theatres showcasing upcoming shows, interactive theatre games, tabling, and craft activities at the World Theatre Day at Lake Lynn on Saturday

  • Lunch or afternoon drinks on a patio - pollen seasoning welcome!

  • See the spring blooms at JC Raulston Arboretum

A Few More Things Before You Go

Some favorite finds, news to know, and ideas

  • The Coffee Crawl is back. Many of you have told us how it helped you find new favorite local coffee shops. If you missed it last time, now is your chance. Its back for April - this time expanding across RDU. 11+ coffee shops, $5 credit at each - only $25 for the pass. The math on that says GOOD DEAL.

  • Jubala is opening a new location on the other side of North Hills - it was needed! And Jubala brew a good cup.

  • We enjoyed lunch at the new Velvet Tacos in North Hills - casual, great patio, and unique tacos. Warning - they are larger than most. Order less than your norm. For the unusual, try the red curry queso dip. Since we lived in Thailand, and know dairy is rare in their diet, this was a strange dish for my head to get around, but it kinda worked. I won’t be a regular order, but I’d eat it again and it’s worth trying!

  • Vino Wine Bar tucked away off Glenwood Ave has a small plant covered patio and lovely spring vibes. No photos as we were celebrating a friend’s birthday so its phones down!

  • We had a media preview of the upcoming Pimento Cheese Festiva at Downtown Cary Park- I think you’ll like the food. It was hosted at our favorite Albatross Bar in Cary (home of THE BEST Old Fashioneds) While there we learned they now do breakfast burritos on sat and sun that draws in the crowds.
