Today’s homeschooling lesson brough to you by the Great Barrier Reef!
Hi {{first_name}}
Let's hope this weekend was the last of the cold snap. But I hope you made the most of it regardless.
We moved our daughter out of UNCW for the summer. I'm not sure how. I swear we just helped her move in. I really thought her going there would mean I'd have more beach days, but life moves too fast with all its busyness. Next year will be different.
Watching her load up the car got me thinking about how fast it all goes. From homeschooling her in an RV around Australia and the USA to dropping her off at college. I have no idea how we did it.
For 7 years, Craig and I were growing y Travel Blog while traveling full-time. Hotels, tents, RVs, all of it. Homeschooling two daughters along the way. My mother still says she has no idea how I didn't lose it. From this steady home in Raleigh, I look back and wonder the same thing.
A few things I know for sure now.
You can do far more than you ever thought you could.
It's all worth it when you're pursuing what brings you purpose, passion, and joy.
And it can always be evolving. If you figure out after the 5th snowstorm in the RV that you just can't do this anymore, it's okay to point the car in a new direction and change what needs to change. These days I'm in a quieter-ish chapter, and that's its own kind of right.
Which is exactly why I'm excited about Jess Ekstrom's book launch this morning. If you don't know Jess, she's a local entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and author. Her new book, Making It Without Losing It, hits shelves tomorrow. It'll help you balance striving without sacrificing the present. I can't wait for my copy, which is already on the way through pre-order.
And talk about a muddled brain. I was so busy chatting that I forgot to get a photo with her. What kind of content creator am I?
Jess is a Raleigh woman worth celebrating and supporting. You can order the book here.
Still in one piece,
Caroline
P.S. A group of the Philadelphia Flyers players walked past me at North Hills on Friday, and I gave them a look that said “You are going to LOSE it! No making it for you young men!” Go Canes!
