Hi {{first_name}}
You may notice that the format of our newsletters is changing slightly. I’m experimenting with a few new ideas and sections to see what feels most helpful and enjoyable for you.
As always, your feedback is so appreciated. My goal is to make sure this newsletter continues to bring you the most relevant, interesting news and ideas for enjoying life in Raleigh. I’ll be spreading our finds, updates, content and news over newsletters on Mon, Weds, & Fri. It’s too much to put in just one Friday newsletter.
Behind the scenes, I’m also deep in a season of change and paperwork. After becoming a U.S. citizen, I’m now applying for my American passport and updating my citizenship status with Social Security, which means… more forms, more appointments, and more bureaucracy.
At the same time, all four of us have had to renew our Australian passports (which, let me tell you, are far more complicated, fussy, and expensive than the American ones). And next up, I begin the citizenship process for the girls.
Honestly, I’m tired.
It feels like the past decade of our lives has been one long trail of paperwork and government processes as we’ve built our life here. But we’re getting close to the finish line, and I can’t wait for the day when it’s all done and we are fully, officially rooted here in Raleigh.
Until then, I’ll take my wins where I can.
Like this beautiful stretch of warm, spring-like weather we’re currently blessed with. Get out and enjoy it if you can… because if Raleigh has taught me anything, it’s that this is probably just the first of many false springs still to come.
My mood is elevated and I am loving seeing the bursts of color starting on the trees. It definitely speaks of hope and renewal!
Caroline
